I want to take this time and thank everybody for what they have done for me and my family in this campaign. I would never have gotten as far as I did without each and every one of you. All I heard people talk about is that "I didn't do much" but you will never know what it has meant to me for the people standing behind me the way that they did. It has been an honor running to try and serve you as your sheriff. I will never forget what everyone has done for me. If I can be of service to anyone, please let me know. Hello, my name is John Shearon. This website was created so I could tell you a little about myself and why I want to serve you as the next sheriff of Chilton County. So please take your time to learn more about me and some of the issues that you, the people have voiced concerns about. I am forty two years old and have been married to my wife, Lisa Willis Shearon of Clanton for twenty one years. I was raised in Billingsley but Clanton has been my home for the past 26 years. I have two children, a daughter and a son. Our family actively attends Samaria Baptist Church, where I serve as a deacon.
I am currently employed with the Calera Police Department and have been with them since 2008. Prior to that, I worked for the Chilton County Sheriff's Department for nine years. Three years prior to working for the Sheriff's Department, I donated my time to the people of Chilton County as an unpaid Sheriff's Reserve while working in construction.
I have made the decision to run for the office of Sheriff in the 2010 election as a Republican candidate. I can't do this alone. I will need your help. I would like to ask you for your vote and support on July 13, 2010. Your vote and support will be greatly appreciated. I want to make Chilton County a safer place to raise our families. To do this you have to remember that I can't do it alone, so please remember me when you go to the polls to cast your vote.

Goals
- Fight all crimes equally to make Chilton County a safer place to raise our families.
- I will make sure the citizens of Chilton County are properly represented and treated with dignity, respect and understanding.
- More patrolling of county roads.
- Work to implement the merit system that you voted into place in 2002.
- I will have an open door policy, where everyone can come in and talk to me about their concerns and problems.
- I will work with the municipalities inside the county and not take over their jobs.
- Have community oriented projects that will help get the communities involved and help reach our youth.
